RJD’s Tej Pratap Invites Nitish Kumar to Re-enter Mahagathbandhan

RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav has invited Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to re-enter the ‘Mahagathbandhan’.

Tej Pratap shared a poster on Twitter which has his picture on one side of the frame and “Entry Nitish Chacha (Uncle)” on the other side.

Tej Pratap’s move has come at a time when BJP and JDU are face to face on many issues including caste-based census, NDA’s leadership in Bihar, liquor prohibition, law and order situation.

Recently, BJP leader and minister Janak Ram had claimed that the BJP is the single largest party in the Bihar Assembly with 77 seats while the JD-U has only 45 seats. So the Chief Minister should come from BJP quota. He also advocated a ban on loudspeakers for azaan (namaz in mosques).

Many netizens took a dig at Tej Pratap for the post because a few years back, he was standing outside Rabri Devi’s residence with a placard which read, “No entry for Nitish uncle.”

Many people have questioned him for backtracking from his earlier stand.

Notably, the Nitish Kumar-led JD-U contested the 2015 assembly elections along with the RJD and the Congress party and formed the government.

In that election JD-U got only 69 seats while RJD won 80 seats, yet Lalu Prasad Yadav gave Chief Minister’s post to Nitish Kumar.

After 15 months of rule, Nitish Kumar left the Grand Alliance and joined the NDA to form the government in Bihar. At that time the BJP had only 54 seats in the state assembly.

After parting ways with the Grand Alliance, the RJD always claimed that the people of Bihar had given Nitish Kumar the mandate to run the government with the RJD and the Congress and not the BJP. Still Nitish Kumar went with BJP and formed the government. The RJD alleged that Nitish Kumar stole the mandate of Bihar to form the government with the BJP.

After that episode, Tej Pratap Yadav was standing with a placard which read, “Nitish Kumar’s no entry in the grand alliance.”
