RJD leader says Ramayana has garbage in it; BJP hits back alleging ‘constant chot on Hindu astha’

Patna: In the midst of a controversy over Bihar Education Minister Chandrashekhar’s remarks on Ramcharitmanas, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RLD) leader Shivanand Tiwari said on Friday that there is a lot of garbage along with diamonds and pearls in Ramnaya. He said, “I thus believe that it (Ramayana) has diamonds and pearls as well as garbage… If you talk like this that Ramayana only spreads hatred, then I personally am of that opinion.” don’t agree with.” President Shivanand Tiwari said.

Chandrasekhar had recently said that “Ramcharitmanas spreads hatred in the society”. The RJD leader made the remarks while addressing the 15th convocation of Nalanda Open University. Bihar Governor Fagu Chauhan was also present on this occasion.

Defending his statement on Ramcharitmanas, Chandrashekhar said on Friday, “You show me a video that I have opposed Ramcharitmanas. I have opposed only a few verses of Ramcharitmanas.”

BJP spokesperson Shahzad Poonawalla attacked the RJD leader over his remarks. Taking to Twitter, he said, “After Jagadanand Singh and Chandrashekhar now Shivanand Tiwari – Says Ramayana has kuda karkat (garbage) with diamond in it, why this constant attack on Hindu faith for votes? Land of hate, book of hate and now This! RJD Act? Will the same be said about other religions?”
