Patna: Unknown armed criminals shot and killed a youth of block level RJD Leader Deepak Yadav (25) near Niazipur Dam Simri police station area Steam district when he was returning from cremation with some friends in an SUV on Friday night.
Police said that Yadav was the Dumraon block president of RJD’s student wing in Buxar.
Police also told that he lived in the main market area of Chanakyapuri Colony of Dumraon police station area of Buxar.
Buxar SP Neeraj Kumar Singh said on Saturday that the family members of the slain Yadav have registered an FIR against five unidentified assailants in connection with his murder.
“The family members had initially alleged that they had met with an accident. They took him to Sadar Hospital from where he was referred to Varanasi. She died on the way to Varanasi, following which the family members brought back the body and alleged that she was shot dead,” he said, adding that this has raised many suspicions.
The SP said that investigation is on and raids are being conducted at several places to trace the people involved in the murder. SP Singh said that the family members have not clarified the matter with the police.
“Yadav had a bullet injury in the head. The incident happened around 7 pm. After the death of Buxar at around 10 pm, the family members returned midway. The postmortem was done within hours,” he said.
During this Dumraon SDPO Krishna Kumar Singh said that Yadav had gone to attend the cremation of his close friend’s grandmother and was returning after being shot.
The deceased woman was the mother-in-law of Archana Devi, the Sahiyar Panchayat head of Simri block.
“Surprisingly, none of those who lived with Yadav at that time have come before the police. They are traceless,” he said.
The SDPO said that many facts were still hidden like how many criminals had reached the spot while many others were traveling with the slain youth.
He said that the police have found a bike which collided with the SUV when they reached the spot. The SDPO said that many doubts are to be cleared for which the family members and his friends are being traced.
