Rising unemployment has become a major problem in the country. The unemployment rate rose to 7.83% in April, up from 7.60% in March. According to the Center for Monitoring of Indian Economy (CMIE), the unemployment rate in cities has gone up to 9.22%, from 8.28% in March. On the other hand, if we talk about rural areas, then it has decreased. The unemployment rate in villages stood at 7.18% this month, compared to 7.29% in March. If we look at the states, Haryana has the highest unemployment. The unemployment rate in the state is 34.5%, while the unemployment rate in Rajasthan is 28.8%. Himachal Pradesh recorded the lowest unemployment rate at 0.2%, while it stood at 1.6% in Madhya Pradesh.

In this way, Madhya Pradesh is at 6th place in the country in terms of lowest unemployment rate. 3 reasons are being given for the increase in unemployment rate in Haryana. First- Not getting a government job for 2 years. Second- The business sector of Haryana has been affected due to Russia and Ukraine war. Third- Industrial production has come down due to continuous power cuts since last days.

38 lakh workers decreased, crores left the search
According to CMIE, 38 lakh workers have been reduced in April due to weak economic activities in the country. At the same time, after all the efforts, crores of people have given up their search for jobs. Rumki Mazumdar, Economist, Deloitte India, says that right now the Indian economy is facing many challenges on job creation.

In this regard, economist Professor Kanhaiya Ahuja says that unemployment will decrease further in Madhya Pradesh. He believes that the two big corridors being built in Madhya Pradesh will change the economy wherever they pass. There are many reasons for the unemployment rate of 1.6% in Madhya Pradesh. A lot of work has been done in the corona period in the state, due to which the GST collection has increased. Due to which MSME expanded and employment increased.

If job went to Corona, then got employment in agriculture sector
Professor Kanhaiya says that MP is the only state where the agriculture sector has taken care of the entire system. It also gave employment to those who lost their jobs during the Corona period. According to the records of the government, more than 5 lakh unemployed people have been registered in the state in a year, but why should only the government sector be looked at for employment? The private sector has a major contribution in the state. Many small and medium industries also started under MSME in the state, where a large number of people have got work.
