India wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant finally recovered from Covid-19 and joined the rest of Team India in a bio-bubble in Durham, the BCCI informed via a tweet on Thursday morning. It’s a big positive for a team that didn’t field a regular keeper in the practice clash against England CS XI.
Pant, who tested positive for the virus on July 8, is now available for selection in the first test.
“Hello @RishabhPant17, Great to have you back,” BCCI wrote on Twitter.
Pant went through a 10-day isolation period before joining Team Bubble in Durham.
Meanwhile, the likes of Bharat Arun, Wriddhiman Saha and Abhimanyu Easwaran along with Dayanand Garani are still in isolation, as the latter also tested positive for the virus.
On the other hand, young opener Haseeb Hameed celebrated his Test recall with a scintillating century on the second day of the warm-up struggle even as Umesh Yadav bowled some sharp spells to help Select County XI in India get 220.
