Rishabh Pant joins Indian cricket team to sweat it out in net session

After suffering a loss in the final of the World Test Championship, Team India will look to kick-start the second round of the Championship with a win. The Men in Blue will take on Joe Root-led England in a five-match Test series. India will look to keep the pressure on the hosts as England lost to Kohli and Co in the four-match Test series held on Indian soil earlier this year.

Indian cricket fans were disappointed after Rishabh Pant tested positive for COVID-19, but earlier this month, he recovered from the virus. However, the batsman did not participate in the 3-day warm-up match between India and County XI in Durham.

Fortunately, Pant has now joined the team in the United Kingdom ahead of the Test series. The Indian team is very particular about their fitness, therefore, before their clash with England in the first match of the series, the Men in Blue have been sweating it out in the nets. Indian cricketers are constantly working to improve their game before the England Test.

On Sunday, July 25, the Indian cricket team shared a video of Kohli & Co.’s practice session on their official social media handle.

The Indian squad featured Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, Rishabh Pant, Umesh Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane and Mohammed Shami.

In the video, while Kohli and Pant were watching their elements in the net session, Rohit tries his hand at the bowling. The first Test will begin on August 4 at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.

The Indian cricket team has been in England and Wales for almost two months. They landed in the UK in early June for the inaugural ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand. While India continued their 8-year long ICC-trophy drought, the Kiwis won their first ICC title since 2000.
