India cricketer Rishabh Pant has admitted that he dozed off when he was on his way back to his hometown in Roorkee in the early hours of Friday, which led to the accident. Sources have told CNN News 18 that the star cricketer had admitted to wheel sag even as shocking footage of his car hitting the divider and rolling over has already emerged. Some other horrifying visuals of the car engulfed in flames have also emerged which prove it was close to death.
The local police revealed that he was taken to a local hospital where he was given first aid. After this he was referred to Max Hospital in Dehradun, where he told out of danger. The BCCI is reportedly in touch with the special hospital.
Furthermore, the doctors have confirmed that the cricketer does not have any fractures or internal injuries that could have been detrimental to his career.
Also, his parents haven’t reached the hospital yet, but several teams from the local administration and police department are camping at Max Hospital and some of them are discussing with Pant how the accident happened.
As mentioned above, Pant had admitted that he had indeed dozed off after which the car hit the divider and overturned. It then caught fire and the cricketer had to break the glass to save himself. The accident took place around 5.30 am today at a place called Narsan Border in Roorkee near Hammadpur Jhal.
A reporter from Network 18 has confirmed that Pant had come to Roorkee to surprise his mother. Pant usually stays at his Gurugram residence, but since his mother was in Roorkee, he wanted to surprise her for the new year.
Haridwar SSP Ajay Singh said, “Pant met with an accident at Mangalore in Haridwar district when his car hit the divider at 5.30 am on Friday.”
“He was taken to Saksham Hospital in nearby Rookee, from where he was later referred to Max Hospital in Dehradun.”
