PM Modi’s reply to Gandhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was addressing Parliament on Wednesday, took a dig at the case study cited by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in connection with the latter’s rising wealth of business tycoon Gautam Adani. During his hour-long speech, PM Modi made scathing attacks on Gandhi but did not mention his name throughout his speech.

Significantly, the Adani Group is in the eye of a storm following allegations of fraud and stock manipulation by a US-based short-selling firm. The company’s shares declined despite the group’s denial of the allegations. Ever since the reports claiming serious fraud surfaced, the old party has been protesting against Adani and PM Modi and demanding an independent probe.

Meanwhile, PM Modi cited a prestigious Harvard University report, in which he claimed that the research has exposed the rise and fall of the grand old party. “Some people (Rahul Gandhi) have a craze for Harvard studies. It was said during the coronavirus that India would be a case study on the devastation. An important study has been done at Harvard in the last few years and this is the subject of study” The rise and fall of India’s Congress party’, PM Modi said.

Significantly, the Prime Minister’s statement came a day after Gandhi, in his speech in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, linked the massive rise in businessman Adani’s business fortunes and personal wealth with the Modi government coming to power in 2014. .

Meanwhile, after PM Modi’s speech in Lok Sabha, Gandhi again hit out at the PM and claimed that he was providing “shield” to the businessman by not initiating the probe. Speaking to the media after PM Modi’s speech in Parliament on Wednesday, Gandhi said the Prime Minister chose to remain silent on the burning issue of the Adani scams. Furthermore, he insisted that he was not satisfied with the Prime Minister’s speech in the Lok Sabha and said that he should have launched an independent inquiry if he really wanted to put an end to the chaos.
