So far there has not been an open war of words between the governor and the government camp. However, the actions of both sides clearly prove that it will be difficult for them to work together

The rift between the West Bengal government and Governor CV Anand Bose has now become clear. In the last four days, Governor Bose visited four universities, met vice-chancellors, teachers and students, and helped many students in various aspects.

Now, the government led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has written to the governor asking the reason for his visit without informing the government.

Sources related to the incident told News18 That the Governor received this letter day before yesterday but he did not pay any attention to it. Instead, Bose has now also finalized the appointment of the Vice-Chancellor of Netaji Subhash Chandra University, clearly indicating that he will not change his mind.

So far there has not been an open war of words between the governor and the government camp. However, the actions of both sides clearly prove that it will be difficult for them to work together.

West Bengal on Friday Education Minister Bratya Basu said, “He (governor) is recruiting vice-chancellors without informing the government, going to different universities for meetings. This is not as per the order of the Supreme Court. We have written a letter to him on this.”

Basu said Bose’s recent visit to universities without informing anyone was like “walking around like a white elephant defying rules”.

It is obvious that the governor is trying to become a very active chancellor, but the government will not allow it. Sources close to the governor said the education minister’s remarks are leading to the rift.

Earlier, the Governor had written a letter to the Vice-Chancellors asking them to submit a weekly report to him. The Bengal government reacted strongly to this, saying that the governor could not do such an activity, as he did not have that authority.

The governor did not respond to the government, but showed last week that he is a hyperactive chancellor. He was a collector at one point in his career, and he believes in a fast-track movement. The question is, where will this rift take their relationship? Will this relationship become like Dhankhar or be better? Only time will answer.
