Richa Chadha to play Investigating Officer in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s ‘Six Suspects’

Actress Richa Chadha is thrilled to star in filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia’s upcoming series “Six Suspects” and says the murder mystery portrays her in the complex character of an honest investigative officer who tries to make her way into a male-dominated system. is trying. Chadha, known for her performances in films like “Masaan” and “Fukrey”, said the show gave her an opportunity to work with her “Gangs Of Wasseypur” co-star Dhulia.

“My part in ‘Six Suspects’ is extremely layered and complex. She is an honest investigating officer trying to make it work in a male dominated investigative field… I want to work with Tigmanshu Dhulia for a while From ‘Paan Singh Tomar’.

She was speaking at a special virtual event on Disney+ Hotstar, where the streamer announced her upcoming movies and original series.

Chadha, who made her digital debut in 2017 with “Inside Edge”, credits the advent of the streaming platform for pushing the envelope of inventive storytelling.

“I am blessed to have these amazing characters on OTT. Movies have box office pressure but here the content reigns supreme and we get to discover hidden gems like Partik. “Six Suspects” is the first on-screen collaboration between Chadha and Gandhi, who shot to fame last year with Hansal Mehta’s series “Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story”.

Without giving any details about his character, Gandhi said, “Six Suspects” cast him in a role that is different from any he has attempted in his 16-year career.

He said, “This genre is also something that I have not explored. I am sure the audience will see me in a new avatar. Even when I was shooting for the show, I was surprised with myself because I haven’t played a role like this.” added.

“Six Suspects” will be the actor’s first Hindi series after the nationwide success of “Scam” and Gandhi said, more than being under pressure, he is impressed by the audience’s constant love.

“It is definitely satisfying and encouraging because of the kind of love, appreciation and support I have received from the audience, I never imagined this happening in my first (Hindi) project, though I am passionate about theater and regional cinema.
