Actor Rhea Viswanathan, who will now play Sandhya in the hit Tamil show Raja Rani 2, shared a picture on Instagram and it has gone viral for obvious reasons. Rhea posted her picture in Sandhya’s character with the caption, “For a fresh start,”. This comes after Riya replaces Aaliya Manasa as the female lead of the show.
Raja Rani, which airs on Star Vijay, is one of the most popular shows and has captivated the hearts and minds of the viewers. Directed by Praveen Bennett, the first season of the show starred reel-life couple to real life couple Sanjeev and Aaliya Manasa.
Their chemistry was highly appreciated by the audience and became a major reason for the success of the show. The first season ran from 2017 to 2019 and during the shooting of the first season, romance blossomed between Sanjeev and Alia, who played Kartik and Sembruthi respectively.
The couple got married in 2019 on Aaliya Manasa’s birthday, amid objections from her parents. Soon they had a daughter, whom they named Aila Syed. However, Sanjeev later switched to Sun TV, where he started playing the protagonist in the serial Kayal, while his wife continued with the second season of Raja Rani, which began on October 12, 2020.
Alia Manasa briefly played the role of Sandhya in Raja Rani Season 2 and actor Sidhu played the role of Saravanan. The story revolves around Sandhya, who aspires to become an IAS officer and unexpectedly marries Saravanan. Saravanan realizes Sandhya’s ambition after marriage and helps her achieve her dream intelligently. The plot of the second season is different from the first season with new characters.
However, Alia became pregnant with her second child during the second season. She had to leave the serial because of her baby bump. The actor confirmed that she will no longer play the character of Sandhya. Riya Viswanathan has been replaced in her place.
Alia gave birth to a baby boy on March 27 this year.
