The rise/fall in the index varied from state to state. In the case of agricultural laborers, 15 states registered an increase of 1 to 15 points while 5 states showed a decrease of 2 to 13 points. Tamil Nadu tops the index table with 1,247 points while Himachal Pradesh is at the bottom with 839 points.

In the case of rural laborers, 15 states registered an increase of 1 to 16 points while 5 states showed a decrease of 2 to 12 points. Karnataka topped the index table with 1,235 points while Bihar remained at the bottom with 872 points.

Among the states, the maximum increase in the Consumer Price Index numbers for agricultural and rural laborers was experienced by the state of Andhra Pradesh (15 points and 16 points respectively), mainly due to the rise in the prices of rice, ragi, fish-dry, sugar. reason. Tea readymade, shirting cloth cotton (mill), leather/plastic footwear, toilet soap, hair oil, barber charges etc.

In contrast, the maximum reduction in the CPI numbers for agricultural and rural laborers was experienced by the state of Kerala (13 points and 12 points, respectively), mainly due to a fall in prices of rice, tapioca, pulses, fish-fresh/fish. because of.
