Restaurants, bars in Haryana can operate at 100% capacity. Gurgaon News – Times of India

GURUGRAM: The Haryana government on Saturday allowed restaurants, bars, gyms, spas and club houses to operate at full capacity, provided these business establishments follow social distancing norms and other COVID-appropriate behaviour. Cinemas and multiplexes were also allowed to operate at 100% seating capacity.
As Covid cases have been at a low for the past several weeks, the government asked residential universities to work out a program for students to return to campuses in a phased manner. However, the state withheld the lifting of the lockdown and extended it for a fortnight till November 28.

From July this year, both single screen and multiplex were running at 50% capacity. The owners welcomed the move, saying it would help them tide over the losses during the subsequent two lockdowns.
“We suffered heavy losses. In the last one and a half year, we were closed on most of the days. When we opened, we were only told to operate at 50% capacity. All the recently released shows of Sooryavanshi were full. Had the decision been announced a week earlier, we could have generated a lot of revenue. But we are happy with the decision of the government. We are expecting some profit this month as there are some big films in the queue right now. Sanjay Barjatya, Regional Head, Miraj Cinemas said, “We will follow strict COVID protocols as we have been doing for so long.
Restaurant owners, who have been given several relaxations in their schedule over the past few months, are still waiting for corporate houses to call employees to offices. “In a city like Gurugram, office workers make up the bulk of our customer base. As of now, only 10-15% of the corporate crowd is visiting the eateries near their offices. We are getting families and local residents and the business is about 70% higher than before. Gurugram Gagan Vashisht, owner of Dhaba 29, said, “It has a huge corporate base and we are expecting normalcy to return in terms of attendance by this year.
For social gatherings, however, the cap remains. Not more than 200 people will be allowed at a time in indoor areas. The number of guests in the open space can be up to 500.
Despite the numbers being low, the Gurugram administration warned people against lowering their guard. “The government is easing restrictions in phases. However people should be cautious. Wedding season has arrived, so there will be gatherings. It is extremely important for people to take all precautions while attending such events,” said Deputy Commissioner Yash Garg.
