‘Respect Hinduism more than Islam’: This politician who supports Nupur Sharma

New Delhi: Controversial Dutch far-right politician Geert Wilders has made yet another explosive remark for supporting suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma who made controversial remarks on Prophet Muhammad. Wilders was being trolled after supporting Sharma and many people asked him ‘when are you going to criticize Hinduism’.

In one of his latest tweets, Wilders wrote, “Cultural relativism is a misleading concept. People are equal but cultures are not. A culture based on humanity and freedom is always better than a culture based on intolerance and subjugation. That’s why I respect Hinduism.” I do. Million times more than Islam.”

Geert Wilders, who is known for repeatedly taking a tough stand against Islamic extremism in his country, extended his support to the BJP leader after making controversial remarks about Prophet Muhammad during a TV debate. The Dutch politician took to Twitter and shared several screenshots of the threats. “So this is what I get for supporting the brave #NupurSharma. Hundreds of death threats. It makes me even more determined and proud to support him. Because evil can never win. never. #IsupportNupurSharma,” he said in a tweet.

The screenshots Wilders posted on Twitter contained obscene threatening messages and even indicated a desire to kill him.

Earlier on June 6, he had claimed that Nupur Sharma gave correct information. India should stand in its support. Wilders supported Nupur Sharma’s controversial comments in a tweet, saying, “It is ridiculous that Arab and Islamic countries are angry with Indian politician Nupur Sharma for telling the truth about Prophet Muhammad, who actually married Ayesha. She got married when she was six years old and when she was nine. Why does India apologize?” Dutch politician and member of the Netherlands Legislature, Geert Wilders, posted a series of tweets in support of the statement.
