In Himachal’s tribal district Lahaul Spiti, tourists stranded for the last 4 days have been rescued. Lahaul Police and BRO personnel had to sweat in zero temperature to rescue around 100 people trapped in Lahaul. Meanwhile, 7 vehicles, which were evacuated through the Aton Tunnel after the rescue, collided with each other due to slippery snow.

The vehicles were badly damaged, but the occupants of them are safe. After this the police vehicle also got stuck in the middle. At present, tourists trapped in snowfall have been shifted to Manali. Snowfall is still continuing in the area. Now the icebergs have started falling from the mountains.

Rescue in zero temperature

Police and BRO personnel cleared the snow from Belcha and pulled out the vehicles after the vehicles pulled out through the Aton Tunnel collided with each other. The tourists stranded amidst snowfall have been safely evacuated to Manali. SDM and DSP Lahul reached the spot. SDM Keylong Priya Nagta, DSP Lahaul Spiti rescued the tourists by staying on the spot. When the police and BRO personnel were engaged in evacuating tourists here, during that time the temperature here was zero. Despite this, it was successful in evacuating the tourists after hard work.
