The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government of Punjab has released the report card of Action on Corruption. Since the formation of the government, 28 cases have been registered so far. In which 45 arrests have been made. However, 8 accused are still absconding. Of these, maximum 22 cases are from the Mining and Forest Department. Punjab Police is at number two with 14 cases of corruption.
The accused in the corruption case include Health Minister Dr. Vijay Singla, former Congress minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, former Congress MLA Joginderpal Bhoa and IAS officer Sanjay Popli. Apart from this, the search is on for former minister Sangat Singh Giljian. At the same time, a vigilance inquiry is being conducted on former minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu.

In the Punjab Government, Health Minister Dr. Vijay Singla asked for 1% commission in every work of the department. The officer of the department complained to CM Bhagwant Mann. After which Singla was sacked from the cabinet and arrested.
Former Congress minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot took a bribe of Rs 500 for felling a tree. Vigilance arrested him while sleeping from the house in Amloh after a scam of about one and a half crores.
Before Bhoa, the name of former Congress MLA Joginderpal came up in illegal mining. Police registered a case and arrested him.
IAS officer Sanjay Popli asked for a bribe of 7 lakhs in lieu of tender allotment of 7.30 crores while being the CEO of Sewerage Board. Had taken the first installment of 3.50 lakhs. On asking for the second installment, the contractor complained.
On March 24, a case was registered against the clerk of Jalandhar Tehsil. 4 lakh rupees were demanded in lieu of the job.
On March 25, 17 people were arrested for collecting goonda tax. 1.65 crore recovered.
Case registered against 4 people including Sub Inspector in Tarn Taran. The SI was demanding a bribe of 5 thousand. This bribe was sought to process the production warrant.
In Sangrur, the ASI was accused of demanding a bribe of Rs 10,000. The ASI had asked for a bribe to submit the challan after being questioned.
In Tarn Taran, the ASI was accused of demanding a bribe of 20 thousand rupees. Its 14 second video was revealed. He was asked for a bribe in connection with an investigation that his name would not appear in it.
Form was registered against the employees of Government Book Depot in Nawanshahr. The complainant said that Rs 1700 was taken for the correction of his son’s name. If he wanted to get his daughter’s name corrected, 15 thousand rupees were being demanded from him.
Action was taken on the assistant of Patwari in Fazilka. A bribe of 5 thousand was demanded in lieu of registering the delay.
After the formation of the AAP government in Punjab, action has been taken against the officers and employees of different departments in the corruption case.
CM Mann released Anti Corruption Helpline CM Bhagwant Mann has issued Anti Corruption Helpline number 95012-00200 after the formation of the government in Punjab. Any person can send audio or video on it asking for or taking bribe. If the complaint is found to be true, then immediate action will be taken on it.
