Oscar-winning actress Renee Zellweger was recently spotted by the paparazzi on the sets of her upcoming show The Thing About Palm. The NBC series is based on the life of Pam Hoop, who was convicted of murdering her friend Betsy Faria and trying to frame her husband, Russ Faria, for the crime. For The Thing About Pam, Zellweger could be seen on set wearing a plump-suit. The actress can be seen shooting at a location wearing a white puffer jacket and jeans along with her fat-suit. She was also seen taking a sip and having an extra large drink.
Meanwhile, pictures have surfaced of crew member Renee carrying a fat-suit on the set. The actress was also seen wearing a lot of artificial makeup to match the description of the hoop.
The fat-suit is a controversial choice after several actors in Hollywood were called out for perpetuating a fat-phobia. Actress Gwyneth Paltrow recently said in an interview that she regrets wearing a fat-suit in the movie Shallow Hall. She also said that she no longer does films.
Sarah Paulson, on the other hand, had to apologize to critics for her choice to wear a fat-suit in American Crime Story: Impeachment. She said in an interview in Los Angeles, “It’s very difficult for me to talk about it without feeling like I’m making excuses. There’s a lot of controversy around actors and thick suits, and I think the controversy is legitimate. I think fat phobia is real. I think pretending otherwise does more harm.”
Meanwhile, Zellweger himself previously opened up about having a panic attack while filming Bridget Jones’s Diary. The actress had to gain 30 pounds (13 kg) for the role and went on ‘yo-yo dieting’, which made her extremely anxious. She said in a previous interview, “Can I tell you that by the time we eliminate one of them, my body is deteriorating.
