Reliance is in the process of effecting a significant leadership change, group chairman Mukesh Ambani announced on Tuesday, battling it out to the younger generation.
In a virtual speech on the occasion of Reliance Family Day, Ambani said seniors including him should now “yield” to capable, committed and talented young leadership at Reliance.

Ambani said, “We should guide them, enable them, encourage and empower them… and sit and applaud as they outperform us. At Reliance, we need to build an organizational culture.” should do what goes beyond its leaders.”
The Reliance chairman expressed confidence that his children Akash Ambani, Isha Ambani and Anant Ambani will “take Reliance to even greater heights”.
“I can see and feel his passion, commitment and dedication for Reliance every day. I see in him the same spark and potential that my father (Dhirubhai Ambani) had to change the lives of millions and contribute to India’s development. Let us all wish him all the best for his mission to make Reliance more successful.”
In addition to transitioning to youth leadership, Mukesh Ambani Set out two other imperatives for a strong organizational culture.
“We should never be satisfied with what we have achieved in the past. Companies that siled because of their past achievements become footnotes in the history book,” he said, adding that he wanted the story of Reliance be told in a book that has no final chapter.
“This is the only way for the leaders of today and tomorrow to earn the right to call themselves the true heirs of Dhirubhai Ambani’s legacy,” Ambani said.
The Reliance Chairman also emphasized the ‘We Care’ philosophy of the group.
“At Reliance, we care about our planet, we care about our nation, we care about our people, we care about our customers, partners and shareholders, we care about our employees and their families. And, last but not least, we care about our own development,” he said, calling for empathy, compassion and integrity in conduct.
