Red salute to Prabhu Shri Ram: Communists now in the shelter of Ram; Preparing to challenge Right Wing and Sangh Parivar

For a long time, Indian politics has been seen revolving around Lord Ram. All the parties have been trying to woo the public in the name of Ram. Now the Communist Party of India (CPI) has turned to Ramayana. In Kerala, the Malappuram District Committee of the party has started an online talk series on Ramayana. It is being considered as a new weapon in the political war against the Right Wing and the Sangh Parivar (RSS).

7 day online talk show ends today
The District Committee of CPI Malappuram has started a 7 day online talk program on its Facebook page. In this, the state level leaders of the party are also speaking on Ramayana and Ram. The name of this program has been named- ‘Ramayana and Indian Heritage’. Today is the last day of this talk show which started on 25th July.

Ramayana is part of the country’s tradition
CPI Malappuram District Secretary PK Krishnadas said that at present, communal and fascist forces claim everything related to Hindutva. On the other hand the society at large and other political parties are moving away from it. The epics like Ramayana are part of the common tradition and culture of our country. Through the talk show, the party has tried to know how Ramayana should be read and understood in the progressive era.

Targeting the Sangh Parivar
Talking on contemporary politics of Ramayana, Keshavan Nair of CPI said that the politics of Ramayana era was completely different from what the Sangh Parivar has been doing. He said that Lord Rama is depicted as the bearer of contradictory forces. Karl Marx’s theory of dialectical materialism is the first thing that comes to the mind of the communists after a thorough study of the Ramayana.
