Temperature crosses 47 degrees in 15 cities of the world

Talking about rain, in the last 24 hours in the country, the highest rainfall of 220 mm was recorded in Kochi, Kerala. It ranked fourth in the world. The highest rainfall of 264 mm was recorded in the Canadian city of Carman. Although, according to the Meteorological Department, Jobai in Assam-Meghalaya has recorded 290 mm of rain, Cherrapunji 220 mm, but these places are not included in the world list yet.

It is raining above normal across the Northeast. Several districts of Assam and Meghalaya recorded more than 100 mm of rain. According to the Meteorological Department, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal along with parts of Chhattisgarh will receive rain and thundershowers for the next five days. This will give relief from the heat.

Monsoon likely to reach Andaman and Nicobar today
The Meteorological Department says that the monsoon will reach Andaman and Nicobar Islands by Monday morning. However, it will reach Kerala by May 27. There is a possibility of rain with hail for the next two to three days in the hilly states of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. There is a possibility of dust storm in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan for the next two days. This is likely to bring down the temperature.
