Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Director of Cricket Operations, Mike Hesson has put to rest rumors about the availability of Australian limited overs specialist Glenn Maxwell, saying that he will not be available for the crucial game against Rajasthan Royals (RR). Maxwell has missed the first few matches for RCB and will miss the third match against RR on Tuesday as he has been signed to Cricket Australia (CA). The 33-year-old, however, will be available for selection for RCB’s fourth match in IPL 2022 against Mumbai Indians on April 9.
“From the perspective of Cricket Australia, there is no contracted player available before 6 April. So, no matter when they get here, no one can play until the 6th. We are well aware of this, like any other side, we have planned for it. Maxi will be with us and will be available from 9th (April) onwards.”
Australia is playing a limited overs series against Pakistan in Lahore, and whether or not a Cricket Australia-contracted player is in the team, he cannot play anywhere else until his team’s engagement for that particular series is over. .
