New Delhi: The Jammu and Kashmir Bank on Wednesday said the Reserve Bank has approved the appointment of Baldev Prakash as its next Managing Director and CEO from next year. The Reserve Bank of India vide letter dated October 26, 2021, has extended the candidature of Prakash as MD and CEO of the bank for a period of three years from the date of assumption of charge or on April 10, 2022, whichever is earlier. has approved. The bank said in a regulatory filing.
The state-owned lender will separately notify its board about the appointment of Baldev Prakash as MD and CEO and the actual date of his taking over. Prakash has more than 30 years of experience in Banking in various roles across small and large sized branches in SBI. He joined SBI in 1991 as a Probationary Officer and is presently the Chief General Manager (Digital & Transaction Banking Marketing Department) at SBI, Mumbai.
Presently, RK Chhibber is the Chairman and Managing Director of J&K Bank, who took over the charge of the bank in June 2019. Shares of Jammu and Kashmir Bank were trading at Rs 43.20 on BSE, up 5.62 per cent from the previous close.
