Story – There is an anecdote before the war in Ramayana. Shri Ram had decided that Angad would be sent as a messenger to Ravana’s court. Angad reached Hanuman ji before going to the court of Lanka.

Angad was also a devotee of Hanuman ji and considered him as a guru. Angad said to Hanuman ji, ‘You have gone to Lanka before and I am going now. You tell me, what and how should I go there and do it?’

Explaining Hanuman ji said, ‘Whatever work you do, it should always be discussed. The might should be such, which is prestigious.

Angad listened carefully to the words of Hanuman ji and then kept thinking that what would be the true meaning of these things. After some time Angad was standing in front of Ravana. Ravana was continuously insulting Angad.

Crying for religion, Ravana said, ‘I know religion, that’s why I am telling you, your father Bali was my friend. You are destroying the reputation of your clan. The Ram with whom you are with, does he have? The timid Vibhishana, the monkeys like you and Sugriva, the defeated and exhausted brother, Rama himself, the forest dweller. What will you compete with us? Yes, a monkey is definitely strong, the one who came first, the one who burnt Lanka. He is definitely strong on your side.’

On hearing this, Angad understood that Hanuman ji had said that whatever work is done, do it in such a way that the world will remember it for years. When Hanuman ji went to burn Lanka, Ravana is still remembering him.

Lessons – This story has taught us that we should always do good deeds. Work in such a way that people always remember us and our success.
