One of India’s most respected businessmen and former chairman of Tata Sons was also awarded the Order of Australia, Australia’s highest civilian honour, for his contribution to business in Australia.

Announcing this on Twitter, Australian High Commissioner to India Barry O’Farrell shared pictures of the ceremony. Calling Tata a ‘titan of biz’, he wrote, “Ratan Tata is not only a titan of biz, industry and philanthropy in India, but his contributions have made a significant impact in Australia as well.” Delighted to honor Ratan Tata in recognition of his long-standing commitment to the India-Australian relationship.”

This comes a month after the much-loved businessman was appointed as an Honorary Officer of the General Division of the Order of Australia because of his contribution to Australia-India bilateral relations.
