Ranveer Singh starrer ’83 to be celebrated at Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, Kapil Dev becomes guest of honour’

One of the world’s premier and biggest Indian film festivals is coming back physically this year. The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, which was held virtually for the past two years, will make its physical return with programming spanning both in-person and online to keep up with the present times. The festival is scheduled to take place in Melbourne from 12 to 20 August. Before the world was hit by a pandemic, the festival hosted by Shah Rukh Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Tabu, Vijay Sethupathi, Rima Das, Zoya Akhtar, Karan Johar among others in 2019.

This year the festival will begin with its inaugural night on August 12 and its annual awards ceremony on August 14. Film programming is more diverse than ever, with over 100 films from 23 languages ​​to choose from for the festival. The schedule of the festival will be announced soon by the organizers and Indian film artists will fly to Melbourne to celebrate the diversity of cinema.

Taking forward the popularity of 83, directed by Kabir Khan, one of the most talked about films of this past year, the festival has invited legendary cricketer Kapil Dev as a special guest. Speaking about being a part of IFFM 2022, Kapil Dev said, “I am looking forward to being a part of IFFM 2022. It is a wonderful platform to celebrate the best in Indian cinema. I truly believe that sports and Cinema is the two major cultural experiences not only for Indians but for different communities and countries that bind us together.
