One actor who knows how to stay in limelight is Ranveer Singh. From her movies to unconventional fashion statements, everything about her grabs headlines. Even though her last two films Circus and Jayeshbhai Jordaar failed at the box office, she grabbed attention last month when she appeared in a nude photoshoot for a magazine. Ranveer had no godfather Bollywood And paved the way to success. Ranveer has now revealed how he landed his first role in Bollywood.

In Netflix On the show The Romantics, Ranveer Singh talks about his Bollywood journey and credits actress Bhumi Pednekar for landing her the role in her debut film Band Baaja Baaraat. Ranveer said that casting director Shanoo Sharma saw him and showed his photo to Aditya Chopra. The makers didn’t think he was going to look so good. But Ranveer Singh’s screen test was done only at the behest of Sanu. Before the screen test, Ranveer said that Sanu’s assistant had come to brief him. The assistant was none other than Bhumi Pednekar. Bhumi talks to them and discusses the do’s and don’ts in the audition. According to Ranveer, she encouraged him and gave him the right kind of advice.

Ranveer Singh revealed, “It was only because of Bhumi that I could audition well and get selected for Band Baaja Baaraat.” Band Baaja Baaraat was a surprise hit even though it featured a debutant and a newcomer Anushka Sharma in lead roles. It was directed by Manish Sharma. The film initially faced stiff competition from No Problem and Tees Maar Khan, but eventually outperformed both films at the box office. Interestingly, Ranveer Singh and Bhumi Pednekar have not worked together on any project yet.

Romantics in memory of Yash Chopra begins streaming on Netflix on February 14. It is directed by Smriti Mundra. The show is meant to commemorate Yash Chopra’s contribution to Indian cinema.
