Ranveer Singh is gearing up for Yash Raj Films’ Jayeshbhai Jordaar, a big screen Hindi entertainer that will introduce rare heroes and a new brand of valor in Indian cinema. The actor is regarded as one of the best actors of his generation, who can easily shape-shift and transform incredibly convincingly any character on screen in every single film. The much-awaited Jayeshbhai Jordaar is no exception and Ranveer opens up about why he loves to dazzle people with his transformations.
He says, “For me, the best thing about being an actor is that you can live so many lives and experience so much because every character that I want to play is remarkably different from each other. When people saw Band Baaja Baaraat, they felt for the longest time that I was a boy who was born and raised in Delhi. This has happened many times during my 11 year career and this is the biggest compliment for me Because I love to make people understand that I can transform myself into anyone.
The superstar is clear that he does not want to be typecast in the industry and among the audience. Thus, he chooses his projects extremely strategically to woo the audience. He says, “I am deeply inspired by shape-shifting, chameleon-like actors around the world like Daniel Day-Lewis. So, I look forward to a metamorphosis on the big screen with every film. I first saw my last release 83. I have done this since, in which I became the great Kapil Dev.
Ranveer says, “My personal ambition is to never be typecast and it is tough but I choose my scripts quite tactfully. Jayeshbhai Jordaar gave me a great opportunity to reprise a character without any reference point. I feel like I really see these roles unfold in my life.”
The much-awaited Yash Raj Films’ Jayeshbhai Jordaar, which also stars Arjun Reddy fame Shalini Pandey, who makes her Bollywood big screen debut opposite Ranveer, is directed by debutant Divyang Thakkar. The film is releasing worldwide on 13 May 2022.
