‘Rang De Basanti’ actor Siddharth returns home after spine surgery, ‘care advice for a few months’

South star Sidharth on Thursday said he has returned to the country after a back surgery in London, adding that he has been advised “few months” of care by doctors. The actor skipped the trailer launch of his upcoming Telugu film “Maha Samudram” last week. The film’s director Ajay Bhupathi had earlier reportedly informed his fans that the “Rang De Basanti” star was in London for a minor surgery.

Taking to Instagram, the actor also revealed that he had gone to London to undergo spine surgery. According to his post, he suffered a spinal injury while filming a stunt sequence.

Sharing the photo, Siddharth wrote, “Thank you for all the well wishes and love. I am battling a back injury from a stunt sequence.

Care has been advised for a few months. Many thanks to all my doctors and physios for their attentive care. Thankfully my spine is strong enough,” he wrote.

The 42-year-old actor wrote that he is looking forward to the theatrical release of “Maha Samudram”. The romantic drama is scheduled to release on October 14.

“For now I am all set to enjoy a lovely film we have put in a lot of hard work with our audiences in theatres. Great reason to celebrate. See you all soon. I am so touched by your kindness. I am. My whole heart,” he wrote.

Siddharth is returning to Tollywood with Maha Samudram after a gap of nine years. Directed by RX 100 fame Ajay Bhupathi, Maha Samudram stars Sharwanand, Siddharth, Aditi Rao Hydari and Anu Emmanuel in lead roles. Maha Samudram will release in cinemas on October 14.
