Ranbir Kapoor will be next seen in Shamshera and Brahmastra.

The makers of Mr Lele have roped in Ranbir Kapoor to feature in a special song for the film. The upcoming comic-thriller will feature Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles. Director Shashank Khaitan and producer Karan Johar were keen to sign Ranbir for the dance sequence. The actors have been rehearsing for the track for some time now and will start shooting at Mehboob Studios from Wednesday.
A trade source told Pinkvilla that Ranbir is not only a good friend of Karan, but they have worked together professionally in the past. The actor played the lead role in Karan’s directorial venture, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and will star in Brahmastra, backed by him. The solo track of Mr Lele has been choreographed by Ganesh Acharya and Ranbir is expected to showcase some of his best moves. Manish Malhotra will style the actor for this sequence. The portal quoted a source as saying, “Ranbir is a brilliant dancer and his track will be one of the highlights of the film.”

However, after Varun’s exit, the makers had to change the casting. Vicky and Bhumi’s COVID-19 diagnosis further delayed the shoot.
Touted as a comedy flick, the upcoming film is based on the character of Vicky, who is caught between his suspicious wife (Bhumi) and colleague (Kiara). Currently, Vicky is busy with his next scheduled feature in the adventure series, Into the Wild. He is shooting in Maldives with Bear Grylls. The actor has to complete some remaining patchwork for Mr Lele in October. Vicky has previously worked with Bhumi in Bhoot Part 1: The Haunted Ship. The actor has co-starred with Kiara in the Netflix anthology Lust Stories.
