Ranbir Kapoor reviews Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh’s 83, talks about Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi

Ranbir Kapoor hasn’t done a show on the big screen since 2018. The actor was last seen in Sanju, in which he was praised for his portrayal of Sanjay Dutt. While fans are eager to see Ranbir in not one but two films this year, the actor recently revealed that he is watching movies and shows being made by fellow actors in Bollywood. Describing himself as a ‘movie geek’, Ranbir revealed that he has watched Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s 83 and Jim Sarbh and Ishwak Singh’s Rocket Boys.

Sharing his review of 83 and Gangubai Kathiawadi, Ranbir told NDTV that he loves both the films. “I really enjoyed Rocket Boys. In the movies I saw Gangubai. Aaliya kicked it out of the park. So proud of her. And I’ve seen how much she gave in the process of making that film. Every one she gave Deserves the success that is coming her way. Every love that comes her way.” Fans will remember that the Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani actor had doubled up as Alia’s cheerleader and recreated her iconic pose from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film.

“I was in love with 83. I see everything there,” he said. Ranbir said that he is yet to see SS Rajamouli’s RRR, which stars Alia Bhatt alongside Jr NTR and Ram Charan. “I am dying to watch RRR. I haven’t got time as I am busy shooting.”

Ranbir himself will be seen opposite Alia in Brahmastra. The Bollywood couple, directed by Ayan Mukerji, recently wrapped up the shooting of the film. Ayan took to Instagram and revealed that the film is complete after five years of taking the first take. Sharing pictures from the final filming schedule, Ayan said, “5 years since we took our first shot on Brahmastra, and we have finally filmed our last! Absolutely incredible, challenging,

Journey of a lifetime!!! Some hand of luck that we finished shooting for ‘Part One: Shiva’ in Varanasi – a city imbued with the spirit of Lord Shiva, and that too in the holiest Kashi Vishwanath temple, which allows us to finish in an atmosphere of purity, Happiness and blessings.”

Brahmastra will release on 9 September. Ranbir’s Shamshera is also slated to release on July 22. He also has Animal and Luv Rajan’s untitled film in the pipeline.
