Ranbir Kapoor opened the secret on the death of father Rishi Kapoor.
Ranbir Kapoor opened up on the death of his father Rishi Kapoor. He also shared how parts of his film Brahmastra remind him of his father.
Ranbir Kapoor is currently awaiting the release of his next film Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar. In between promotions, he was also asked about his last film Brahmastra, where he shared how some part of the film reminded him of his late father Rishi Kapoor. The veteran actor passed away in 2020 after a battle with cancer.
Ranbir was shooting for Brahmastra while Rishi Kapoor was undergoing treatment for cancer. It had been almost 9 years since the film was made. The film could release only last year and proved to be the biggest blockbuster of 2022.
Ranbir Kapoor told PTI in an interview, “When my father was suffering from cancer and was undergoing treatment, I was working on Brahmastra and Shamshera. When I watch Brahmastra now, there are wonderful memories, but there are certain scenes that I watch and I miss moments… like ‘Oh! At this time, was he undergoing chemotherapy or was he on a ventilator…’”
He also spoke about how Rishi Kapoor’s death affected him. He said, ‘The biggest thing that happens in a person’s life is when you lose one of your parents. It’s really something… especially when you’re approaching your 40’s, that’s when something like this usually happens… nothing prepares you for it, but it brings family closer brings It helps you to understand life.
Apart from Brahmastra, which released last year, Ranbir Kapoor also married his long-time girlfriend and actress Alia Bhatt. The two shared screen space together for the film. They have recently welcomed a baby girl and have named her Raha.
Coming back in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar, she will be seen sharing screen space with Ranbir Kapoor. Shraddha Kapoor for the same. Directed by Luv Ranjan, the film is scheduled to release on March 8 on the occasion of Holi.
