Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are now husband and wife. The two had an intimate low-key wedding in the former residence- Vastu. It was also a joyous moment for the fans who were waiting to tie the knot with one of the most loved couples of the Hindi film industry. Now, Rajesh Sharma, who executed the wedding, shared some details of the ceremony in a recent interview.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Rajesh Sharma revealed that he had met Ranbir during the muhurta puja of his upcoming film Shamshera and it was here that the actor finalized them for marriage. He also revealed that the wedding ceremony started after Rishi Kapoor remembered him. He said, “Taking blessings of Rishi (Kapoor) ji, he has done all the functions. It was a traditional Punjabi wedding, in which the Kapoor family was following all the customs. He made sure that everything is as it has always been.”
Sharma said that Ranbir wanted all the rituals to be explained. Talking about the wedding, he revealed, “In Sehra Bandi, all the four sisters (Natasha Nanda, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor) vaccinated Ranbir. Shweta Bachchan Nanda played the role of sister-in-law and applied Kaala Teeka. The Kapoor family Akash Ambani and Karan Johar performed a small procession-like Bhangra on the seventh floor. The marriage was completed by 5.20 pm.
He also said that he took a dig at Ranbir’s nature. He revealed, “There was a method, where Alia’s brothers had to clasp their toes on a stone. Then the message to the brothers is that the Kapoor family you are going into is great, but such instances There may also be places where one’s scalp is hot, but you need to keep yourself up and stand still like this rock. Everyone laughs at this.”
