Reacting to the developments, Gupta tweeted, “Governor Draupadi Murmu was the epitome of tribal and women empowerment to get the highest seat in the state. She was often polite and conducted her office well. Removal of a woman governor, that too a tribal, reflects the anti-women and anti-tribal stance of the central government. ”
However, the state BJP has welcomed the Centre’s move. Party President and Rajya Sabha MP Deepak Prakash said, “The nominated Governor has a long political experience and experience. His presence here will go a long way in the overall development of the state.
Khunti MP and Union Tribal Welfare Minister Arjun Munda also extended his best wishes to Bais.
It was not clear when that would happen. New An official release said that the governor will take over as the sources at the Raj Bhavan. Bais hails from Raipur in Chhattisgarh and was also a minister in the late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s cabinet. He represented Raipur parliamentary seat for seven consecutive terms.
Born on 2 August 1947, Bais was first elected in the 1978 Raipur municipal election and won the assembly seat from Mandir Hasod constituency in 1980 and made his first entry in Parliament in 1989.
