Ramdas batted for regulation of temples. Mysuru News – Times of India

Mysore/Shivamogga: Former Minister and BJP MLA from Krishnaraja Assembly Constituency SA Ramdasi Supported the proposal to take over the administration of the state government on Saturday temples out of the hands of the government, and their privatization. The senior BJP leader argued that this would ensure that temples are administered more efficiently.
“If the revenue from temples is used for the development of the temple and the surrounding area, it will benefit everyone,” he said.
Ramdas told that, while the state government was keen deregulation of temples, it will not delegate the management of temples to private entities. Accusing the Congress of misleading the public, he said, “Congress will not return to power, which means that the question of repeal of the anti-conversion bill or reversing the decision of the BJP government on the regulation of temples does not arise.”
Admitting that there would be a change in the BJP machinery after Sankranti, Ramadoss reiterated that he was not keen on a cabinet berth in the Basavaraj Bommai-led government.
The former minister said the defeat of the BJP in the Mysore-Chamarajanagar local authority seat in the Legislative Council was a lesson that local workers and office-bearers should heed. “Overconfidence and lack of awareness on first and second preferential votes could be the reason for the loss,” Ramdas said.
Speaking to reporters in Shivamogga, RDPR Minister KS Eshwarappa said that the government is not trying to privatize Hindu temples but will manage them effectively.
Referring to State Congress President DK Shivakumar’s claim that the state government is seeking rehabilitation of Hindu leaders by privatizing Hindu temples, he said: “Shivakumar should convert himself to another religion as he is always involved in pro-Hindu policies. Because he is in the politics of appeasement. , Congress has always taken an anti-Hindu stand.
