Ram Navami 2022: PM Modi congratulates the nation for addressing the foundation day of Gujarat’s temple

New Delhi: As India celebrates the festival of Ram Navami on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings on the occasion and wished everyone happiness, peace and prosperity.

Taking to Twitter, PM Modi said, “Wishing the people of the country a very Happy Ram Navami. May the blessings of Lord Shri Ram bring happiness, peace and prosperity to all in life. Jai Shri Ram!”

PM Modi also told that he will address the 14th Foundation Day celebrations of Umiya Mata Temple at Gathila in Junagadh, Gujarat at 1 pm today through video conferencing.

He had inaugurated the temple in 2008 during his tenure as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Based on the suggestions given by PM Modi in 2008, the temple trust has expanded its scope in various social and health related activities to start free cataract operation and ayurvedic medicines for the economically weaker patients. Umiya Maa is considered to be the Kul-devi or ‘Kuldevi’ of the Kadwa Patidars.

Ramnavami is celebrated all over India on the last day of Chaitra Navratri every year to mark the birth of Lord Rama. On this auspicious day, young girls are given gifts and prasad (sweet).

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also congratulated Ram Navami on Twitter. He said, “Heartfelt greetings to all the countrymen on the occasion of Ram Navami. The life of Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram teaches us to follow the path of truth and righteousness while living within our limits. May Lord Shri Ram shower his grace and blessings on all.” Long live Rama!”
