Ram Gopal Varma’s revelation has left social media buzzing.

Ram Gopal Varma said that a Telugu star paid a Bombay corporate company to continue to run his film despite being in deficit.

Ram Gopal Varma’s recent revelations in a new chat have shocked movie buffs. The director claimed that a major Telugu superstar paid money from his own pocket for his film to continue to run at the box office after it failed to perform. This led to netizens trying to guess who this superstar could be. Among the names they took were Prabhas, Vijay Deverakonda and Ram Charan.

Ram Gopal Varma told Galatta Plus, “One particular hero, corporate company from Bombay came and did a film with a big star in Telugu. Okay, now the film, maybe at some point came into deficit. You know, at the theatres. The corporate company wanted to remove it. Now the star’s fans, they felt that its an insult if it doesn’t at least continue for this long a time.”

“So the hero called the corporate company head and said that okay now I will use my own money but you have to run it till this point of time. He said as long as he’s spending the money, what would they lose? This was somewhere not communicated to the distributor. So the distributor stopped putting ads in the newspaper that it’s playing in the theatres. That is an extra cost and he’s not being given that because it came into deficit, so it’s a rule he’s following. So in actuality, the film is running and there’s no ad and that’s a very small amount of money but that’s just the corporate policy. So this completely turned off the heroes,” the filmmaker said.

This snippet went viral across social media and netizens tried to guess whom Ram Gopal Varma was talking about. One person commented, “Ram Charan’s Zanjeer?” Another added, “I think it’s Ram Charan.” Another mentioned, “He is talking about Vijay Deverakonda and Dharma.” One user wrote, “One & only Prabhas.” Another added, “Pan India lottery star Prabhas.”

Ram Gopal Varma recently made headlines for saying that filmmakers should stay away from the mythology genre. Ram Gopal Varma, known for iconic films like ‘Satya’, ‘Company’, and ‘Sarkar’, recently shared his views on the current trend of making mythological films in India. Ram Gopal Varma, never one to mince words, described this trend as “dangerous.” He argued that while mythological films were successful in the past, their chances of box office success today are slim, primarily due to the risk of controversy.
