Ram Charan’s wife Upasana Konidela criticized over Republic Day tweet

Telugu star Ram Charan’s wife Upasana Konidela is quite active on social media and she gives her opinion on trending topics. She educates her followers about their health and fitness and also mobilizes people on social issues. Though her social media posts are loved by her fans, a recent picture shared by Upasana drew criticism on social media.

Upasana, Vice-Chairperson of Apollo Life and Editor-in-Chief of B Positive Magazine, shared an edited picture of Suchindram Temple in Kanyakumari on 26 January to wish people a Happy Republic Day. The picture shows men and women wearing their shoes, standing among the idols of gods and goddesses.

She asked her fans to caption the piece of art. “Let’s engage in building a progressive, more tolerant nation through active participation and inclusion without barriers. BTW see if you can spot RC and Me in this image,” she wrote in her post.

Several fans were able to complete the task as they re-shared the image – after highlighting the power couple. However, some of them appeared disappointed with the creativity. The fact that the image depicts people wearing their shoes surrounded by statues disappointed many.

Responding to the tweet, a user wrote, ‘Absolutely out of the box thinking that most of the pictures are wearing shoes, don’t know how many people paid attention to this, we don’t go to the temple wearing shoes.

Another user dubbed it “hype”. “A big question is in the name of creativity, targeting Hinduism and temples. Who is behind this!” tweeted a user.

One of the users agreed that although the art is good, it is difficult for people wearing shoes on the temple art to digest.

“Frankly I didn’t like the idea, let’s keep the sanity,” read another tweet.

Netizens have demanded that Konidela should remove the tweet.
