Video of Ram Charan and Jr NTR from Golden Globes goes viral
At the Golden Globes, RRR was also nominated for the Best Non-English Language Film category, but the award was awarded to Argentino in 1985.
SS Rajamouli’s RRR won the first Golden Globe Award in the Best Original Song category for Naatu Naatu. However, the Indian actor was also nominated for the Best Non-English Language Film category. Though he didn’t win the award, his gesture of appreciating Argentine historical drama Argentina, 1985, as he lifted the winner’s trophy, is now going viral on social media and winning everyone’s heart.
On Thursday evening, the official Twitter page of RRR congratulated the makers of Argentina, 1985, while also hailing them for making their country proud. The makers of RRR wrote, “Congratulations Team Argentina on winning Best Non-English Film at the Golden Globes, 1985. Your country should be proud of you.”
The statement was shared along with an inside clip from the Golden Globes that showed how Team RRR reacted when Argentina, 1985, was announced as the winner. The round table occupied by the RRR family stood up to show their support for the Argentinian film and the humble gesture has now earned massive appreciation on the internet. Watch the video here:
In less than a day, the video has garnered over five lakh views and over eighteen thousand likes on Twitter. Reacting to the RRR family’s gesture, a user lauded them for upholding high values on a global platform, “I’m glad that with winning a prestigious award and making India Proud that they showed the world how we hold our values high..it makes us more proud. He was the face of India and it couldn’t be more beautiful than this. Another added, “They know the value of achieving global recognition and appreciate it wholeheartedly.” A user claiming to belong to Argentina commented, “Many people like RRR here in Argentina too. One of the best movies I saw last year.”
Set in the 1920s, this SS Rajamouli’s epic action-drama documents the lives of two fictional revolutionaries who go from best friends to rivals but end up fighting a fierce battle together against the British Raj. While Ram Charan and Jr. NTR played the lead roles, Alia Bhatt And Ajay Devgan also made a special cameo in the film.
