Pathan, directed by Siddharth Anand, was a grand comeback for the King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan after a long gap of 4 years. Cinema-goers keep praising this action thriller and now filmmaker Rakesh Roshan has praised the film and shared his reaction on the reference of ‘Karan-Arjun’ in the film.

In an interview with ETimes, Rakesh Roshan was asked about his reaction to the ‘Bhaag Pathan Bhaag’ dialogue by Salman Khan. The dialogue is a direct reference to the Rakesh Roshan-directed film Karan Arjun, where Salman Khan’s character Karan calls Shah Rukh ‘Bhaag Arjun Bhaag’. Reacting to this superhit dialogue, the filmmaker said, ‘I was so engrossed in the film that I didn’t get time to think.’

Siddharth Anand’s directorial seems to have impressed the bigwigs of the industry. He said, “I liked the performances of Shah Rukh, Deepika, John and Dimple Kapadia, the film’s music, Siddharth Anand’s direction and Aditya Chopra’s confidence in Siddharth’s vision.”

Vasan Bala, who watched Pathan in theaters on Wednesday, called out the middle scene Salman Khan And Shahrukh Khan One of the greatest moments in the cinema hall in the movie. The director was taken back to the 1995 film Karan Arjun, directed by Rakesh Roshan, which featured both the actors as brothers. Coincidentally, Rakesh also accompanied Vasan to watch the film in the same theatre.

Recently, even filmmaker Vasan Bala shared ‘Greatest Meta Moments’, sharing a picture to celebrate Rakesh Roshan’s appearance during the iconic moment. The director was surprised by the context of the film and excitedly shared that Rakesh Roshan was also in the theater to watch the film.

His Instagram post read, “SK (Salman Khan) says, ‘Bhaag Pathan Bhaag’ and this happens when Rakesh Roshan is in the cinema hall! Chalo Bhi! Mere Karan Arjun Aage!” Along with it he wrote, “One of the greatest meta moments in a cinema hall for me. Ever!”

Actor and Anil Kapoor’s son, Harshvardhan Kapoor reacted by leaving a clapping emoji, while Abhimanyu Dassani commented, “Feeling”. One user wrote, “Wow! You truly are the king and lover of meta-movie references. The other said, “Yes, yes. That scene was the full Karan Arjun vibe”.

Pathan is an action-thriller from Aditya Chopra’s Spy Universe. Shah Rukh Khan in this Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in the lead role. Tiger’s Salman Khan has a cameo appearance in the film. Helmed by Siddharth Anand, the film is bankrolled by Yash Raj Films Production.
