Filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi filed a police complaint after receiving death threats and requested for additional security. In a letter to Special Commissioner of Police Deven Bharti, Santoshi requested for additional security after receiving death threats and formally revealed about the recent incident during the press conference of her film “Gandhi Godse: Ek War”. He said that a group of people with vested interests obstructed the programme.

“Later I received several threats from some unknown persons to stop the release and promotion of this film. I feel insecure and I believe that if such people are released, I and my family can be seriously harmed and hurt.

The filmmaker, known for making hit films like “Ghayal”, “Damini” and “Pukar”, urged the police to take necessary steps. “I request you to provide me additional security immediately for my safety and that of my other family members,” he added.

At a promotional event for “Gandhi Godse: Ek Yuddh” on Friday, some protesters seated amid media persons waved black flags and raised slogans like ‘Mahatma Gandhi Zindabad’. They claimed that the film undermines the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi and glorifies his killer, Nathuram Godse.
