South superstar Rajinikanth has been admitted to Kauvery Hospital in Chennai. According to news agency PTI, the actor has been taken to the hospital for a routine check-up. Rajinikanth was recently in Delhi where he was honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award at a function.
“It is a regular health check-up from time to time. He is now in a private hospital for examination.” The actor was admitted to the hospital in December last year for severe fluctuations in blood pressure.
Meanwhile, the 70-year-old actor was in the capital two days back to receive the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award and had also met President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In an emotional speech at the ceremony, Rajinikanth thanked those who played an important role in his life. “I dedicate this award to my mentor, Guru K Balachander Sir. I remember him with great gratitude and my brother Satyanarayan Rao Gaekwad, who is like my father, taught me great values and infused spirituality in me,” Rajinikanth said.
The Dadasaheb Phalke Award, India’s highest award in the field of cinema, was presented along with the National Awards on 25 October. Rajinikanth was present with his son-in-law Dhanush, who also received the Best Actor award for his performance in director Vetrimaaran’s 2019 crime drama Asuran.
