Rajasthan reports biggest single-day spike in Covid cases in 15 days Jaipur News – Times of India

JAIPUR: The state on Thursday reported its highest single-day spike of 39 Covid cases in the last 15 days. On December 8, the state had registered 40 cases. Active cases have increased from 218 to 245 in the last 24 hours.
Around 44% of the cases were reported from Jaipur. The city reported 17 cases from 10 different areas. Four cases were reported from Gandhi Nagar, three each from Ajmer Road and Vaishali Nagar, while one each was reported from Amer, Civil Lines, Jagatpura, Lal Kothi, Sanganer, Sodala and Station Road.
Across the state, Bikaner reported four cases, Ajmer and Alwar three each while Bhilwara, Jhunjhunu, Pratapgarh, Sikar and Udaipur reported two cases each. One case each was reported from Jaisalmer and Barmer.
As the state has also reported 22 omicron cases, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will hold a review meeting with doctors on Friday afternoon.
A senior health department official said that they are continuously monitoring the situation and appealed to the people to follow the COVID protocol to avoid the risk of infection.
Contacts of Jhalawar Dubai Return Test-Way:
The Jhalawar Medical and Health Department heaved a sigh of relief on Thursday as a total of 42 contacts of a COVID patient who had recently returned from Dubai tested negative for the virus.
The 42-year-old man with a fracture in one of his hands visited the Jhalawar District Hospital, where his swab samples were collected.
