Rajasthan: Rajendra Rathore alleges irregularities in purchase of electricity | Jaipur News – Times of India

JAIPUR: Deputy leader of opposition in Rajasthan assembly Rajendra Rathore on Thursday alleged a scam in purchase of electricity, saying a private power company – Rajwest – donated Rs 5 crore to the office of the All India Congress Committee (AICC).
In return, Rathore alleged, the additional chief secretary in-charge of the mines department stayed the order to recover Rs 3,436 crore from the company for illegal mining in the state.
“I am going to present the CAG report in the House that mentions that Rs 3,436 crore should be recovered from the company,” said Rathore.
He also stated that the mining engineer of Barmer had written to the state’s mining department director seeking to know whether to recover the money from the company. “However, the ACS stayed the order,” he said.
Rathore also alleged that under the midday meal scheme, a scam of Rs 1,678 crore, had been exposed.
“This would affect 66.22 lakh children (from class 1 to 8) studying in government and other schools of the state,” he added.
