Rajasthan Panchayat Elections: Counting begins at 11 am. Jaipur News – Times of India

JAIPUR: Following cold wave and foggy conditions in the state, the State Election Commission (SEC) on Monday rescheduled the counting of votes for Panchayat Samiti and Zilla Parishad elections.
Chief Electoral Officer and SEC Secretary Chitra Gupta said that the timing of counting of votes to be held on Tuesday has been changed from 9 am to 11 am.
The election of district chiefs and pradhans were held in four districts – Karauli, Baran, Ganganagar and Kota. The Secretary has directed the District Election Officers (DEOs) of these districts to inform the candidates and political parties about the change in timings.
64.35 percent polling was recorded in the first phase, 68.57 percent in the second phase, and 68.99 percent in the three districts in the third phase.
Overall voting was 67.25 percent in the three phases of Panchayat elections in the above four districts. Gupta further said that the model code of conduct for Panchayat Samiti and Zilla Panchayat elections in four districts is effective till December 24.
