At the same time, Advocate General NM Singhvi on behalf of the state government said that the petition is a publicity stunt and to fulfill its political objectives. The news of the rally was published on 2 December and on the same day the petitioner filed a public interest litigation. The Advocate General said that if the court wants to take suo motu cognizance, but the PILs filed in this way should not be accepted.

The Advocate General also told the court that the petitioner had moved the petition on December 2, but he did not challenge the BJP’s roadshow on December 5.
