Jaipur: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot Clarified on Thursday that his reference to bribery in transfers at a teacher award function was not related to any particular department, but corruption is prevalent in all departments. He said that the employees of all the departments fall in the trap of ACB. He was talking to the media after attending a program with Prashan village in Dausa.

The Chief Minister said, “In Rajasthan also the SP and the Collector were trapped by the ACB. They were suspended and some were even dismissed from service.” The CM said that even the home department is handled by the chief minister himself, many cops are in the trap of ACB for corruption.
Addressing a teacher award function two days ago, the chief minister had asked him whether he had to pay bribes for the transfers and an overwhelming majority said positive. This came as a serious embarrassment for the Education Minister and PCC President Govind Singh Dotasara who was sitting on the stage with the CM. The Chief Minister had then promised that a transfer policy would be brought so that no body was required to bribe anyone, but they would be transferred on his turn.
Dotasara then had to clarify that he and his staff did not even drink tea for the transfers.
Many times the local MLA’s ‘desire’ is being accused of getting transferred in his area and it has been alleged that MLAs take bribe for transfer.
After the Chief Minister cited bribery in transfers, the opposition attacked the Education Minister and forced the Chief Minister to give an explanation.
The CM’s reference to bribes at the ceremony was interpreted as targeting the minister and there were rumors that it was a ground for the education minister in the upcoming cabinet reshuffle.
