As soon as the Chief Minister made the first two announcements, which were included in the Budget 2022-23, the opposition started creating ruckus and came to the Well of the House.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot “mistakenly” read out excerpts from the previous budget instead of Budget 2023-24, in what looked like a major blunder.

The moment the Chief Minister made the first two announcements, which were included in the Budget 2022-23, the opposition started creating ruckus and stormed the Well of the House.

However, later Gehlot accepted the matter and said that he realized his mistake and only the first page of the budget was wrong.

Speaker CP Joshi asked them to maintain order, but the opposition continued to create ruckus, due to which the House was adjourned for half an hour. After the proceedings were adjourned, the BJP MLAs sat on a dharna inside the Well of the House.

last budget before assembly elections

This will be the last budget of the present government as assembly elections are due in the state later this year.

For the first time, the budget will be shown live in all government and private colleges of the state.

Gehlot, who also holds the finance portfolio, will present the budget on the theme of ‘Bachat, Rahat, Badhaat’ (savings, relief and progress).

He finalized the budget along with his team of officers at the Chief Minister’s Office on Thursday.

“Rajasthan’s budget will bring savings, relief and progress. In a tweet on Thursday, Gehlot said, “Finalised the Budget 2023 with the resolve to ensure #Bachat_Rahat_Badhaat of every person of the state.”
