JAIPUR: With an eye on the state elections next year, Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday announced a slew of people-friendly proposals in the Budget for 2022-23.

Old pension scheme for employees appointed on and after Jan 1, 2004
Education
* Exam in July for 62,000 posts
* 1,000 English medium schools to be opened in both urban and rural areas
* 10,000 English medium teachers to be recruited
* Education institutes at JLN Marg to be developed as Education Hub at an expense of 400 crore
* Khaitan Govt Polytechnic College to be upgraded to engineering college at 100 crore
Medical
* Outdoor and indoor services will be free (cashless) for all in govt hospitals
* Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojna benefits increased from 5 lakh to 10 lakh. In empanelled pvt hospitals, cashless treatment up to Rs 10 lakh Collectors to help patients not registered under the Chiranjeevi scheme in getting cashless treatment
Power
* Domestic users consuming up to 100 units per month to get 50 units free of cost
* All domestic consumers to get 3 per unit subsidy up to 150 units and 2 up to 300 units
* Subsidies for those consuming between 100 to 300 units monthly
Law & order
* Special Operations Group will get a new cell to prevent cheating in exams
* Cyber ​​police stations in all districts
* Rajasthan Industrial Security Force (RISF) to be set up to secure
industrial units
Tourism
* Industry benefits to be given to hospitality sector
* 1,000-crore fund for development of infra and promotion
* No conversion charges, GST relief for rural tourism projects
Jal Jeevan Mission
* Rs 13,921 crore for 24 projects
* Rs 1,800 crore for the construction of 2 dams in Kotda tehsil of Udaipur
Agriculture
The first agriculture Budget presented in the assembly. 11 missions under Mukhyamantri Krishak Sathi Yojana to boost agriculture in the state
Budget allocation under this Yojana hiked from Rs 2,000 crore to Rs 5,000 crore
Mining
* Mining or quarry leases of minor minerals expiring in 2025 will be extended up to 2040
* Max limit of 4 hectare in khatedari land for mining minor minerals
* Dead rent reduction by half on transfer of mining lease
Other announcements
* 100-day Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Scheme
* 7th Pay Commission to be implemented for officials of roadways, RTDC
* Employment under MGNREGA to be available for 125 days
* Rs 100-crore EWS fund for economically weaker sections in general category
* Recruitment for 1 lakh posts in various departments
* ‘Mukhya Mantri Work From Home – Job Work Scheme’ for women who will be given 1.3 crore smart phones
* Nehru transit hostel and facilitation center to be set up at Udaipur House in New Delhi
* Baba Amte Divyang University in Jamdoli
* Rs 10 crore each to be allocated to every assembly constituency for repair and maintenance of roads
* 5,000 two-wheelers to be distributed to specially-able persons every year
