quota: A 19-year-old girl student, who was preparing for NEET exam, allegedly committed suicide in her hostel room in Talwandi area of ​​Rajasthan’s Kota district, police said on Wednesday (April 26). Rashi Jain was a resident of Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh. She was in Kota for more than a year and was preparing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. His exam was to be held on May 7.

According to Assistant Circle Inspector Vasudev of Jawahar Nagar police station, the deceased was last seen outside her hostel room on Monday evening. “When she did not come out of the room till late on Tuesday morning, the hostel warden informed the police, who reached the spot and broke open the lock of her room. The girl was found hanging from the fan,” he said.

‘No suicide note recovered’

However, no suicide note was recovered from his room. Meanwhile, the police recovered several packets of medicine on the zodiac table. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Amar Singh said, “Prima facie it appears that the girl was upset over not being able to fully dedicate herself to studies due to some illness.” Police handed over the body to the relatives of the deceased on Wednesday after the post-mortem. The police had also registered a case of unnatural death under section 174 of CrPC for investigation.

Several other incidents of suicide by students in Kota

Significantly, this is not the first incident of suicide by a student in Kota this year, cases of suicide by students taking coaching for the preparation of medical and engineering exams are continuously coming to the fore. Earlier on February 24, a 17-year-old boy from Badaun in UP committed suicide by hanging himself. Abhishek was preparing for NEET by staying in Kota for two years.

On February 8, a girl student committed suicide by jumping from the 10th floor of a multi-storey building in the Landmark City area of ​​Kunhadi police station area. Similarly, on January 29, a coaching student attempted suicide in Vigyan Nagar area. The student jumped from the fourth floor balcony of the hostel.

On January 19, a girl student attempted suicide in the Jawahar Nagar police station area. The student set himself ablaze by pouring inflammable material on himself. The local people saved him by admitting him to the hospital. Meanwhile, UP resident Ali Raja committed suicide on January 14. He was preparing for JEE.
