Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray’s hip surgery at Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital has been postponed by a few days after he tested positive for COVID-19.

Raj Thackeray, admitted to Lilavati Hospital, could not be given anesthesia due to the presence of dead cells, as a result of which doctors at Lilavati Hospital postponed his surgery for a few days.

The MNS chief has returned home from the hospital.

A party leader said that Raj Thackeray had to undergo hip surgery on Wednesday.

Earlier this month, 53-year-old Thackeray had said that he would undergo surgery for his knee and back problems.

Thackeray was in the news recently after giving an ultimatum to remove loudspeakers from mosques.

He was also scheduled to visit Ayodhya on June 5, but he has put the plan on hold for now.
